LightGuard's 9X In-Pavement Signal LED Head Module

9X LED IWRL Light Fixture w/Composite Base Plate Pic

9X LED LightStar™ IRWL features:

The IRWL fixture is designed to fit tightly inside the protective base plate. It easily connects to the electrical cable system wires with snap together, water tight connectors.

The interior of the light fixture is designed with double redundancy, isolating the solid state LED modules from roadway moisture and corrosive intrusion. The IRWL fixture is fastened to the base plate with stainless steel socket head 1/4″-20 screws with thread locks and anti-seize compound applied to the threads in the factory.

Our Debris Free™ Self Clearing design is built into our base plates and features fluted air channels. As tires pass over the base plate, the fluted air channels push air up and away — keeping the LED light fixture free from debris build up.

The slight elevation of the IRWL fixture positioned above the road grade is further intended to help alleviate any blockage by debris.  Its shallow 1 1/2″ depth ensures that the subsurface roadbed is not compromised.

The 9X IRWL fixture light beams are visible in daylight from 200 to 600 feet and at night time at a distance of over 1000 feet.

Enlighten1™ Flash Rate  — Photosensitive Epilepsy Safe

Our Enlighten1™ flash rate reaches a primitive part of the brain that elicits a response to danger. Developed in conjunction with the University of California, Berkeley Vision Detection Laboratory, the Enlighten1 flash rate was designed to catch the motorists’ attention without creating any unwanted negative affects that flashing lights might have on photosensitive epilepsy. It is a public safety feature unique to our product.

According to the Epilepsy Foundation of America, exposure to flashing lights at certain intensities or to certain visual patterns can trigger seizures in 3 percent of people with epilepsy. This condition is known as photosensitive epilepsy.

Warranty and Maintenance

LightGuard Systems offers a three year conditional warranty on its in-roadway warning light fixtures. Maintenance consists of removing 4 bolts and a plug to disconnect, and then lifting the fixture out of the base plate. Our IRWL fixtures are designed for 100% backwards compatibility with any older generation base plate models.
