PCU
Power Control Unit A roadside or pole mounted cabinet contains the LED drive electronics and Power Control Unit (PCU). The System operates off 12.5 v dc (not to exceed 15 v), supplied by an AC-to-DC current off an AC line. Typical draw is below 10 (ten) watts with a peak draw of 25 (twenty-five) watts. Circuit breakers protect the circuitry. The LightGuard Type IV PCU is based on a high-speed 8 (eight) bit embedded micro controller. A LightGuard proprietary software program provides effective, reliable operation. The PCU is also equipped with a keypad and liquid crystal display (LCD) that allows simple user adjustments to the System's preprogrammed parameters.

Solar Power Option A solar power system can be incorporated into the System to permit stand-alone operation at locations where AC power may not be readily available. The Sytem can maintain continuous operation between recharges for approximately three (3) days with automatic activation features and up to six (6) days without automatic activation. This option is very cost efficient for difficult to service locations.

The Power Control Units require an individualized start-up code to operate. Please call LGS at 1.888.247.2974 for that code.

The Enclosure is water-resistant and built to UL 50 and United States National Electronic Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) 3R standards.

The standard white, locking enclosure is included with the AC powered LightGuard System. Mounting brackets are included.
