Snowplow Blade Resistant Base Plate

LightGuard System Part Number: LGS-CHS-14-FS
Description: 14" Snow Plow Resistant Base Plate

LightGuard Snowplow Blade Resistant Base Plate

LightGuard Snowplow Blade Resistant Base Plate

Manufactured from case hardened steel featuring a Debris Free™ "Self-Clearing" fluted face plate. Coated with marine grade primer. Compliant with FHWA Standards: MUTCD Chapter 4, Section L

The snowplow blade resistant mounting base plate is embedded into the roadway to secure and protect In-Roadway Warning Lights (IRWL) signal heads.

The cased hardened steel base plate is coated with a corrosion resistant, marine grade steel primer. The steel base plate is 14” diameter x 1½” depth.

The signal head is fastened to the base plate with stainless steel socket head ¼"-20 screws with thread locks, anti-seize compound applied to the threads in the factory. The cavity inside is designed to contain the electrical wiring for the signal head. The electrical conductors are embedded in the road bed via direct burial or through conduit.

The shallow depth of the in-pavement base plate ensures that the lower level road base is not penetrated. The base plate top sits flush with the road surface and the LED signal head module projects ½" above the road.

The steel base plate is designed for installation in asphalt or concrete roadbeds located in “snow country”. Two part epoxy compound permanently embeds the base plate into the roadway.

Warranty and Maintenance
The LightGuard System offers a three year conditional warranty on all its in-pavement signal module components. Systems operate on both solar and A/C powered supplied units.

Maintenance, when required, on our signal heads is simple. There are four bolts to remove, a plug to disconnect, and a malfunctioned signal head can be replaced in a few minutes. Each generation of signal head is designed to retro-fit back into older systems.

Our company enjoys a high degree of repeat business due to its reputation in providing a specialized staff of highly trained individuals. Customers independently report that our customer service is highly qualified, prompt in response with a professional manner.
